The next generation of in-vehicle services include opportunities for commerce— not just shopping and delivery, but new businesses like usage based insurance or tires as a service as the changes in the Electrical Architecture first delivered benefits starting with Entertainment services that are primarily local in interaction but served from the cloud, then applications to be more effective or productive in vehicles with automation of routine tasks like parking and charging. Customer obsession now is around all the services…not the physical vehicle; people making decisions around whether vehicle can get updates & service itself. The vehicle manufacturer is really now competing to add value around connectivity. Aggregating telemetry and synthetic sensors into the cloud provides the core data to drive these services.
