About a year ago, in February 2020, PipeWire 0.3.0 came into light, being the first API stable release of this young open-source multimedia project. This was only the beginning of an incredible year during which PipeWire evolved tremendously and gained a lot of attention. Today, it is used daily by thousands of linux desktop users as their main audio system, trusted for its enhanced user experience, its advanced bluetooth support and its unprecedented performance. This talk is an update on all those things that have happened in PipeWire in the year that passed, on where it stands now and what we expect to see in 2021 both on the desktop and the automotive fronts.
